And so much for covered parking...

eating grass and takin' names

During the Alabama game, the camera caught LSU coach, Les Miles, munching on a blade of grass. When questioned about this odd ritual he responded,

"I have a little tradition that humbles me as a man, that lets me know that I'm a part of the field and part of the game," Miles said Saturday, as only he could, when asked about being caught on camera ingesting a blade of grass during the Alabama game. "You should have seen some games before this. I can tell you one thing: The grass in Tiger Stadium tastes best."

When it comes to football, I find myself a bit superstitious. I'll wear the same shirt, jewelry, shoes, etc. This past week the Ole Miss vs LSU game was a bit too tense and close for my liking. In the fourth quarter I decided to join Les Miles and munch down on some turf. Call me crazy for doing it but hey, we won!
Later, Kevin tells me that he has Sanford Stadium grass in his backyard. Before his mission, they patched their backyard grass with the sod from the stadium. And not just any grass, but the grass from the "G", the center of the field. "How could we be together this long and you never share this with me!?" I exclaimed, "Do you have any idea the people who have walked on the grass? Pros! Amazing coaches! IT'S FOOTBALL!" My dad and I think that they could have made serious money off of that sod. If it was Death Valley grass, I would have fenced that off, built a little shrine, and placed a sign stating,
"No Dawgs allowed".

** Disclaimer: Some of you may think this is ridiculous. But this gives you an idea of just how important football is in our lives. Obsessive you may call it but this is a way of life and how we were raised. Can't change that so eat it :)

our wish list

We are pretty pleased with most of what we have. We're pretty practical this year.

Waiting is the hardest part...

I kept asking Kevin when could we put the Christmas decor up. "Later." was his response. I was talking with my friends Jayme and Lindsey. We agreed we would put them up the following weekend (2 weeks before Thanksgiving). I thought that was fair since I had mine up last year the first week of November. Later that evening Lindsey announced on her facebook status that she caved and put everything up. The next day it snowed... a lot. That made it even more tempting! As Kevin is outside he noticed the neighbors also put their tree up. For me, 2 homes justified my wants and I could not handle it any longer. So, at 9pm I made Kevin take the tree out. Perhaps I did succumb to peer pressure. So what? Yay for the Holidays!
Perhaps I am fascinated and excited by silly and simple things but I thought this was pretty cool. I attended a baby shower today for my friend Markie. There were several games with yummy prizes if you win. The first was to guess how many M&Ms are in the baby bottle. I guessed 123.. there was a total of 128. I was very impressed with my estimate! The second game we each took yarn and guessed the current circumference of her tummy with Baby Ellie inside. I was an inch and a quarter off! WOW!! That never happens. So, I was pretty excited about my winnings.
Thanks Ashleigh and Nicole for the Godiva chocolates! :)Perhaps I should have tried the lottery today? Nah.

Collin Raye in Rexburg?

Kevin and I went to see Colin Raye last night on campus. It was pretty fun evening. With Kevin and I's crazy work schedules this semester, we usually stay at home, cook a meal and watch a movie or play a game. It was nice to do something different for a change. Who would have thought anyone would come here besides David Archuleta?

There are a few other performances between now and Christmas we'd like to attend so we'll keep you posted on what we do the next few weeks.
